Galatians 2:21
I do not make void the grace of God; if righteousness is come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain
We all know that salvation is by grace through faith. That sounds simple enough, and it is. God didn’t make salvation hard. He didn’t give us a list of arduous tasks to perform, or a certain number of years that we had to work so that we could attain our salvation. He made is plain and simple. He gives it to us as a gift that we can neither earn nor deserve.
It is amazing to me that people who believe this to be true and would never in a million lifetimes believe that salvation can be any other way than by grace will move so quickly away from grace after they are born again.
We all know that Christ is not dead in vain. He accomplished exactly what He went to the cross to accomplish. God has never done anything in vain. So, we all agree with the fact that the imputed righteousness that we get at the time of salvation is by grace. Now that leads us to the next phase of our Christian life. That is the day by day living out our righteousness. You know that since we are saved, we are to live a righteous life, that is what the Bible teaches.
It might surprise you how many people live in a world of defeat and powerlessness because they have not learned the truth of this devotional. It is all grace. We are saved by grace and we live out our salvation by grace. Do not make void the grace of God by failing to learn this liberating truth. The Bible tells us in Colossians 2:6 that as we have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so we are to walk in Him. Now, how did we receive Christ? It was strictly the gift of God, given by grace. Ok then, how are we to walk out our day by day salvation? The same way. You see, it is all by grace, not our own works of the flesh. Let Him work His works through you by faith.
