Praise

Psalms 34:1

I will bless the Lord at all times, His praise shall continually be in my mouth.

This psalm of David gives insight into the person and life of this remarkable man of God. It is no wonder that the Bible records that David was a man after God’s own heart. You know, David was a just a normal man who chose to follow and to serve the Lord. He was faithful from the days of his childhood and it carried on over into his adult life. He had proved the love of God and had tested the faithfulness of God. He was not a perfect man, he had done things wrong and had suffered the consequences of those wrong doings. What I am trying to get across is that David was consistent in his praise and worship. He did not let outward circumstances or sin keep him separated from God. He knew where his strength was and he also knew how to appropriate that strength.

Have you learned the secret of praise? Are you able to continue to offer up true heartfelt praise even when things don’t go as you had hoped or planned? It is so easy to praise God when everything is going great. Anyone can do that, but that type of praise is often shallow and meaningless. The reason it is, is because it is based on your circumstances, and not on God’s worthiness. You see, God is worthy of praise regardless of your circumstances. God’s worthiness is not based on what he does or doesn’t do,it is based on who He is. If God never did a thing for you, He would still be worthy of all praise.God did do something for you, he made it possible for you to have your sins forgiven and for you to become His child. He delivered you out of the kingdom of darkness and sin and translated you into the kingdom of light. He changed your eternal destiny for Hell to Heaven. If God never does anything else, He is worthy of your praise. Are you willing to give Him praise and exalt Him for who He is, and not just for what He does? The choice is up to you.

MY WORD CONFESSION: I choose today to bless the Lord at all times and I will let His praises be continually in my mouth.
