The Source Of Conflict

1 Peter 5:8

Be sober, be vigilant, because your adversary, the devil, like a roaring lion walketh about, seeking whom he may devour.

Many of the struggles in our lives are not mere accidents! They are also not put there by God. Our challenges very often come from the hand of our enemy, Satan. He is the enemy of our soul and his one purpose is to keep us from living the life that God has planned for us. Even though we may already be a Christian, he does not stop his work against us. He knows that if he can keep us defeated then we will not be a very effective witness to others. It is his plan to keep as many people as possible from receiving the gospel of Jesus and becoming children of God.

He always prowls about looking for the best scheme to knock us out of our commitment to and relationship with the Lord. He is a tireless one and will continue his attacks relentlessly upon the one who does not know how to resist him and protect himself. It is so important as believers to realize that ignoring this enemy is not an option. He will not go away. The only thing that works against him is to engage him in spiritual warfare. The weapons are available to all believers and are given to us to be used. God has done all that He is going to do at this time, the rest is up to the individual believer.

The final outcome is already certain; we will win in the end. How we fare during our time on this earth is up to each of us. We must know that placing ourselves firmly in the hands of the Lord and using his weapons of warfare will give us the daily victory and will help us defeat our enemy. Remember, he has already been humiliated by Jesus and the cross, so, don’t let up on him during your life time here on earth. You can be assured that he is not going to let up on you.

We are left here on the earth to enforce the victory that Jesus has already won. Be a good ambassador and enforce that victory, keep up the fight. We are victorious in Jesus at all times and in every circumstance.

MY WORD CONFESSION: I recognize that the source of my conflict is the devil and will be sober and vigilant so that I will have victory.
