Complete In Him

Written By: Mechele McMichael

Colossians 2:9-10

For in Him dwells the fullness of the Godhead bodily, and ye are complete in Him . . .

Now days lots of people are talking about vitamins and supplements. We understand that our soil has been depleted of many of the minerals that we need. The uses of toxic sprays have poisoned our fruits and vegetables. All of these things add to what is keeping us from getting all the nutritional value that we need. Therefore, we help our physical bodies by taking vitamins and minerals. We know that drinking plenty of water, eating right and necessary rest is what keeps our physical body strong and healthy.

We need to keep our spiritual body strong and healthy also. After we are born into the kingdom of God there are things that help keep our spiritual bodies strong and healthy. We should be connected with other Christians in a strong fellowship of believers. In Psalms the writer exhorts us to meditate on the word continually. When you really live for the Lord He becomes so much a part of your life that it’s not something you try to take like supplements and vitamins...its already in you. God is in your mind in every situation all through the day. Your prayer life changes to a deep form of worship, you aren't just asking for things but praising Him and being so grateful for all he is to you. We expect and look for changes, answers, and blessings to come.

It parallels the physical body in many ways. We find our rest in Him, not just in sleep. Where the physical enjoys humor and jokes to provide happiness, our spiritual body seeks the deep abiding joy and happiness that only God can give. In the physical we need shelter and monetary provision. In the spiritual He is our provision, shelter and our protection. This could go on and on with all that God is for us. I just know that I don't have to depend on other ways to be content and fulfilled by adding more vitamins to my diet or supplements to make me healthier spiritually. I am thankful for strength, power, energy, and health that comes from the Lord. I am complete in Him

MY WORD CONFESSION: I am complete in Jesus Christ.
