The Wise Seek Wisdom

Proverbs 3:13

Happy is the man that finds wisdom, and the man that gets understanding.

It has always been known that man is a seeker. The desire to seek out and discover was planted into the very nature of a man when God created Adam in the Garden of Eden. Ever since that day, each new generation of man has sought to discover the unknown, to plot the uncharted, to explore the unexplored. Yes, man is by nature a seeker. It is by God’s design that man is not satisfied with the known, He wants us explore and to inherit all of the earth and it’s hidden treasures.

There is truly nothing wrong with being the adventurous type, the type that seeks to understand the unexplained, but the Bible says that the greatest seeking and greatest gain is to gain wisdom. The wisest of all men, Solomon, had so much to say about wisdom and it’s rewards in his writings in Proverbs. (Read Proverbs 1-5)

Wisdom is so much more than just mere compilations of facts and figures, distances and measurements. More than the inner workings of the natural systems of this world. Wisdom is seeing from God’s perspective. Wow, what an amazing concept. Just think what would happen if we could see things and comprehend them as God does.

This is not an unattainable goal, in fact, the Bible says that we are to seek and to find that wisdom. Everything that we need is found and appropriated in wisdom. If we see everything the way God sees it, we will see that healing is always ours. Our finances are not a problem, God has plenty. There would be no such thing as defeat, worry, or any other of man’s earthly enemies of his soul.

Truly we can see that the abundant life that Jesus says he wants us to have is wrapped up in discovering the wisdom of God.

MY WORD CONFESSION: I attend to God’s Word, for it is wisdom and it brings life to those that find it and health to all their flesh.
