1Timothy 4:1
Now the Spirit speaks expressly that, in the latter times, some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of demons
We know that we are living in end times. What we don’t know is how far we are into the end times. Some will say that we are in the last of the last days and others will say that we are in the middle and still others will say that we are still in the beginnings of them. Regardless of how far we are into them, the fact is that we are in the Biblical dispensation called the latter times.
The next great event will be the return of Jesus Christ for His church and we are supposed to be ready and be aware that these times are very important. We are told to expect certain things to happen during these times. There is a great stirring in the spiritual realm, both good and evil. God is pouring out of His Spirit in a mighty way, churches are growing, people are getting saved and signs and wonders are occurring regularly. On the other hand, the devil is also doing his thing too, trying to wreck the faith of any and all believers.
We must be aware and alert of this danger. This scripture tells us that many will be deceived and pulled away by the devil during this time. They will be led astray by seducing spirits. The word seduce means to tempt or persuade to do wrong, to lead astray. I tell you that there is a great falling away from the real faith of the Christian life by many who at one time or other were in church and involved in serving the Lord. They have been seduced into believing that God is not still doing miracles, He is not still healing and is not actively involved in the lives of people today. The power, faith and reality of the Christian life have been undermined. These are either just holding on, trying to make it or else they have become discouraged and given up altogether. Be aware, be careful, and don’t be seduced by the devil.
