Abounding In God’s Work

1 Corinthians 15:58

Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.

I know that we are living in very busy times. There just doesn’t seem to be enough time to get all done that we need to. There are ballgames to attend, school functions to help with, more to do at work than can possibly be done and all the while, we know that we must be about the Father’s work too.

One thing that I know is that if you will let Him; the devil will see to it that you do not have time for the Lord’s work. He will get your earthly obligations so full that you will be meeting yourself coming and going each day. You know, I have a theory about this. I believe that in the midst of all that busyness, you can still abound in the work of the Lord. Just don’t differentiate between the things that are secular and the things that are spiritual. Seek in all your things to find a way to be a witness. Take your Christianity with you wherever you go. Take it to school; take it to the club meetings and to the socials. Don’t forget to take it to work and to the ball games.

We are called to be a witness to the world, not apart from the world. What better way to really be a testimony than to be one in the midst of the secular world. You know, some people may not really know any other Christian but you. They may not really have a good idea of what a Christian is. So, you have all these opportunities to let your light shine and to let your testimony be seen. Don’t miss any chance that you have to be a witness for the Lord. You can be steadfast and unmovable right in the sight of all those people that you come into contact with every day. Let them see Jesus in His human form through your life, knowing that all that work and labor is not in vain. You are laboring in the physical, temporal world, yet you are gaining spiritual and eternal rewards. Your labor is not in vain.

MY WORD CONFESSION: I abound in the work of the Lord and my labor is not in vain, because God is my rewarder.
