Say It

Joel 3:10

. . . Let the weak say I am strong.

There is a saying that is pretty popular today that says, “You are what you eat.” We all know what that is talking about, it means that if you eat good and healthy foods, you will be strong and healthy; but if you eat junk foods, fatty foods, etc you will be unhealthy.

The Bible teaches us that principle too. The difference is that it goes further than the foods that you eat, it goes on to say that you are what you say. Have you ever noticed how much emphasis is placed on the power of words in the Bible.

Notice in the Genesis account of creation how many times it is recorded that “God said”. Over and over again that phrase is repeated. Why? Because there is creative power in words. You may be saying, “yes, but that was God who was speaking, not man.” That is true, but did you ever notice that man was created in the image of God and given dominion in this earth.

In Proverbs 18:20 we are told that a man’s belly shall be satisfied with the fruit of his mouth and with the increase of his lips he shall be filled. In the New Testament, Mark 11:23b says that he shall have whatever he saith. In other words, it is important to say what you want, to say what you need. Don’t say what you have, say what you want or need. Let the weak SAY ,” I am strong” not “I am weak.” This thing works both ways. If we constantly confess sickness instead of health, lack instead of provision, fear instead of faith, turmoil instead of peace, then that is what we will end up with.

It is so important to guard your speech. Watch over your words for they will bear the fruit of their expression.

MY WORD CONFESSION: I am strong, healed, provided for and all my needs are met in Christ Jesus.
