Psalms 9:2
I will be glad and rejoice in thee: I will sing praise to thy name, O thou most High.
I enjoy watching a good football game on television, I even enjoy watching a player dance all over the end zone after making a touchdown. The crowd cheers with joy as struts, dances, spikes the ball and walks off the field in victory. I have often wondered how long those guys practiced their victory dances, I knew they worked very hard during practice just so they could make that very important touchdown and win the game.
I believe we need to rehearse our victory dance and rejoice about the promises in God's Word. Psalm 119: 162 says, " I rejoice at thy word, as one that findeth great spoil." You don't have to wait until you actually see your victory before you begin to rejoice. In fact, thanking God and rejoicing when you pray is a vital key to receiving any promise that is in the Word of God. Psalm 5: 11 tells us, " But let all those that put their trust in thee rejoice: let them ever shout for joy, because thou defendest them: let them also that love thy name be joyful in thee."
When you put your trust in God, rejoicing is not very difficult. Once you believe in Jesus, even though you do not see Him, your heart will be filled with a joy that cannot be put into words. 1 Peter 1 :8 says, "Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory:"
Today as you think about all that Jesus means to you and to the world, take time to let the joy out. Refuse to allow the cares of this life cause you to neglect your praise. Remember "... ye are a chosen generation, a royal priest- hood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should show forth the praises of Him who hath called you out of darkness into His marvelous light ( 1 Peter 2:9)." You were created to rejoice!
