Preparing For Increase

Isaiah 54:2

Enlarge the place of thy tent, and let them stretch forth the curtains of thine habitations: spare not, lengthen thy cords, and strengthen thy stakes;

What kind of preparations are you making for your future? Many folks are just holding on, trying not to lose what they already have. So often, this is the mentality that we as Christians have, we are busy trying to hold the fort. I believe that one of the main reasons that we don’t see great increase in our lives is that we do not expect to. If you are not expecting to increase then you will not be stretching forth your faith in that direction. You will not be ready and willing to take advantage of the opportunities that God sends your way.

The Bible certainly does not teach this type of lifestyle. In fact, just the opposite is taught in the Scriptures. If you really read and study the Bible, you will see that we are taught to go out into the kingdoms of this world and to conquer them for the Kingdom of God. The blessings that are out there are there for the children of God to use, and to take advantage of so that we can further the gospel message by expanding our boundaries and lengthening our cords.

God is the God of abundance. He has always blessed those who are His and who are living in faithful expectations with fullness and great abundance. In fact, one of the things that marked the people of God in the Bible was the fact that they were blessed in all their efforts. They were blessed in their herds, blessed in the fields and blessed in their families. The Bible says that they were blessed coming in and blessed going out. It is God’s will to bless you and your family.

In the times that we live in, the world situation and the uncertainties that are involved, it is really easy to draw back. We must resist the urge to fear and to hold back. Don’t let uncertainties, fears, and times of tumult cause you to draw back. In these days, God is not limited nor is He holding back. Lengthen your cords, enlarge the place of your tents and expect God to move in and fill it all with abundance.
