Trust God

Philippians 4:6

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything, by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known unto God.

It has been determined that one of the greatest enemies of your life and health is worry and anxiety. You know what worry is, it is a continual nagging and fear in your mind that something bad is going to happen in some realm of your life. Do you know what anxiety is? It is worry that has been super sized. It is worry in high gear.

Have you ever wondered why we worry? The Bible tells us not to worry or to be anxious about anything, but to always trust God for everything. Therefore, the source of worry is not trusting God, it is putting our trust in someone or something other than God.

Emotionally, man was not created to deal with worry. He was created to be dependent on God. The emotional impact of worry on a soul is bad enough, but that is not the only thing that worry affects. Many physical illnesses are linked to worry and anxiety. There is absolutely not one positive aspect in worry. We must stop worrying and start trusting God. If we don’t, we will never live the Christian life to the fullest.

The Bible tells us that we are to live life by faith and worry is the exact opposite of faith. Faith has God as it’s foundation, whereas, worry has it’s trust in man. Faith is rooted in trust and worry is rooted in fear. Faith says that God can be trusted and I will trust him. I will not worry. I have prayed and have left it all in God’s hands. He is able to take care of me and all of my problems.

If you are facing problems today, if you are feeling that nagging pull to worry, stop right where you are and acknowledge that you cannot handle your own problems, but that God can. Make this your faith declaration, “God is my source, provider, caretaker and strength, and that I will put my trust in Him. He will deliver me from all my enemies.”

MY WORD CONFESSION: I will not be anxious, for I put my trust in the Lord and He will take care of all my problems and my needs
