Power In The Blood

Hebrews 9:20

This is the blood of the testament which God hath enjoined unto you.

We all know that the Bible says that without the shedding of blood, there is no remission of sin. We also know and agree that Jesus did shed His blood on the cross and that our sin debt has been paid. That is settled and done with, but many do no know, or do not take full advantage of the other benefits that we have as a result of Jesus’ shed blood.

The Bible also teaches that the life is in the blood and there is no doubting the truth of that statement, for we all know that the blood is that life stream for the whole body. Every man and women ever born, with the exception of Jesus, was born with sin in their life. The blood is polluted with it, and all deserve the death that this brings. Jesus was born without sin and never sinned, therefore he did not deserve to die. When Satan brought death to Jesus, he over-stepped his bounds, and the innocent paid the penalty for the guilty. Now the guilty could be free and experience forgiveness and power.

The blood that Jesus shed for us was, of course, for our sin, but it is also the basis of all the other blessings and power that are ours as a result of being born again into the family of God. If you have read the book of the Revelation, you will see in chapter 12 verse 11, it says that they overcame him, the adversary, by the blood of the lamb. Now we can see that the basis of all of our victory and overcoming is the shed blood of Jesus.

The blood of Jesus has power today for overcoming our enemies. We can pray and plead the blood over our families, our loved ones, even the property and possessions that God has given us to be stewards over. The enemy, Satan, cannot cross the blood line, he cannot penetrate the covering of the blood that is applied to our lives. There is power in the blood.

MY WORD CONFESSION: My sins have been remitted by the blood that Jesus shed, I have power and authority under His blood.
