Jeremiah 29:11
For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, not of evil, to give you an expected end.
There is an old Southern Gospel song that says, “When He was on the cross, You were on His mind.” You know, that is so true. Jesus died on the cross but it was not for His wrong, or His sin that He died. He said that no man took His life, but that He gave it up of His own free will and choosing. He could have walked right through them and left them standing, wondering where He went, He could easily have summoned a storm to annihilate His tormentors. It would not have been a problem for Him to have called ten thousand angels to come and rescue Him. Yes, He could have done any or all of these things if He had chosen to, but He didn’t. The reason that He didn’t was that you were on His mind. He knew that apart from His sacrificial death, that you and I would be eternally doomed and separated from Him forever. He loved us so much that He was willing to bear the penalty of sin for us.
Not only were you on His mind then, you are on His mind now. In fact you have always been on His mind. Even before there was a you, He knew you. He knows all, the end from the beginning, and He knew you in the future. The Bible says that before there ever was a sin committed by man, that Jesus was already the Lamb to be slain for our sin. He knew that man would fall, and the plan for redemption was already in place when Adam and Eve committed that first sin.
God always has and always will have us on His mind, we are never out of his thoughts. He is constantly planning good things, abundant blessing for those who are His children. He desires that we walk in all the fullness of life. It is His will that we prosper and be in good health. He has a divine purpose and plan that is filled with His goodness and grace for every human on this earth. It is sad that so many will miss all that God has and desires for them. You won’t miss it will you?
