Trust In Trying Times

Jeremiah 39:18

For I will surely deliver thee, and thou shalt not fall by the sword, but thy life shall be for a prize unto thee, because thou hast put thy trust in me, saith the Lord.

Do you ever feel like one of those little ducks at a shooting gallery? It seems that you are in a vicious cycle going round and round, and every time you get back up, there is someone trying to shoot you down again. Well, I know exactly what you are talking about. If it is any comfort, I want you to know first of all, that you are not alone. It seems like the enemy has turned up the pace and is in an all out attempt to get the people of God to be discouraged and defeated. Lately, I have been hearing more and more people talk about the attacks that they have been under.

Secondly, you are in good company. If you will take a moment to look back in the scriptures, you will find that this is not uncommon. As long as there have been people who served God, there has been attacks of the enemy. All the saints of the Bible at one time or another found themselves in the enemy’s sights. So, just mark it down, if you will live Godly, you will be a target of the enemy. At least, in this one thing, you can rejoice. If you were not serving God, the devil would be leaving you alone. You must be doing something right, or else he wouldn’t be wasting his time on you.

In the midst of these battles and skirmishes, remember these words in Jeremiah. God will protect you and keep you. He is the one who is looking out for you. He has said in His Word that you will make it. The enemy may roar and shout, but God will give you your life as a prize. You are His and He never loses one of His own. You can take courage in this, for surely He will deliver thee.

MY WORD CONFESSION: I will put my trust in the Lord and He will surely deliver me and cause me to escape the enemy’s sword.
