Don’t Be Troubled

John 14:1

Let not your heart be troubled, you believe in God, believe also in me.

In these days that we are living in, it is good to hear the words of Jesus that He spoke to His disciples in a time in their lives when they were troubled. He encouraged them to not be troubled or worried about the disturbing things that they were hearing.

We also can take refuge in these words. He said that He was going to go to the Father to prepare a place for all of His followers and that He would definitely come back to get them and take them to where He is and where He will be with them forever, never to be separated from them again.

What does this say to us today? It says to us the same thing that it said to His disciples. Do not be afraid or worried. Jesus has not left us nor forgotten us. He is counting down the days till it is time to come get us and to take us to the place that He has prepared for us. He said that He would definitely come back and get us to take us to where He is; therefore, we are not to be troubled. The same words that He spoke to the disciples are appropriate and applicable to us today.

Let us look more closely at what this means to us today. First of all, it means that time here on this earth is temporary. The problems and trials are not forever. Since we know that, we can make it, we can be encouraged, things will get better. Secondly, it means that when this time is over, we will enter into that place where He is. There we will be with God forever, and there will never be another problem or troublesome thought, ever. Perfect bliss forever will be ours. Thirdly, the place He prepared is better than any can imagine. Think of what God will do to make a place, it will be awesome. There is nothing on this earth to compare. Therefore, do not be troubled, Jesus is still Lord and God is in control.

MY WORD CONFESSION: Jesus has prepared a place for me and I will not be troubled nor afraid.
