Revelation 21:4
And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain; for the former things are passed away
There is a baby shampoo on the market today that is called, “No More Tears”. When that product first came out it was such a blessing to thousands of babies who had been crying all the way through their daily hair washing because they did not know you weren’t supposed to open your eyes when you washed your hair.
You know, this passage is also such a blessing for it tells us of a coming time for all who are the children of God when God Himself will wash away all our tears.
Just think for a moment about what this verse is saying. It is telling us that not only will there be no more tears, but there will be no more pain, no more sorrow, no more death and essentially no more of anything that causes us grief or worry.
I don’t know about you, but this really excites me. It is hard for us to think of a place and a situation that has no possibility of ever allowing any pain, sorrow, or anguish. We are so geared to this world’s system that we can hardly escape the knowledge of it. I think that sometimes we judge heaven by our own experiences here and really question just how all this can be.
I believe this is what Paul is thinking about when he said that the sufferings of this world are not even worthy to be mentioned when we think of the glory that awaits us. He looked around at all that he had been through, stonings, beatings, shipwrecks, and jails and said, “You ain’t got nothing on me, I am going to be with Him forever.”
Let us today remember that this earth is not our final home, and that we have a great, great day that is coming soon. We will be with Him.
