Proverbs 28:1
The wicked flee when no man pursueth, but the righteous are bold as a lion.
The righteousness of God, what a powerful concept. If you would just spend the time to let God implant into you His truth on this subject, there would be no stopping you. Yet, there are very few people who have truly comprehended this all important truth.
What does it mean to be righteous? In simple terms, it means that there is no fault, guile, sin or transgression in that person. God looks directly at them face to face and says, "Everything looks good to me." The reality of this truth is that there is nothing that is separating you from God, from His love and His power. You may be saying, "Yes, I know the Bible says that, but I am not perfect, I fail everyday." That is a fact, we all do fail periodically and I am not making light of that. The point that I am making is that the forgiveness of God through the shed blood of Jesus cleanses from that so well that God does not even see it. It is as though you had never sinned and never will sin.
The Bible says that God made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us so that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him. (2 Cor. 5:21) The Him in this verse is the same both times and refers to none other than Jesus. He took all sin, past, present and future upon His own self. The Bible declares that as a Christian, we are in Christ. The sinless died for the sinful, the just died for the unjust. Jesus took our sin and paid the price for it. The resurrection of Jesus from the dead is proof that God accepted that payment. The righteousness of Jesus has been imputed to you if you are a child of God. You are declared by God to legally be as righteous as Jesus. There is therefore now NO condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus. (Rom. 8:1)
Now do you see why you can be bold as a lion. The devil cannot stand up to this righteousness, he cannot defeat this righteousness , and you are righteous. Take a bold stance today, you never have to flee again.
