1 Corinthians 10:11
Now all these things happened unto them for examples and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the ages are come.
God is in the blessing business. Contrary to the teaching that many have received, God is not mad at man. He is not withholding His best from us. In fact, the very opposite is true. God has already poured out His wrath and punished sin. Jesus bore the brunt of God’s wrath and the full penalty of sin on the cross so that God could pour out His love and blessing upon all mankind. The full debt has been paid and the penalty has been nullified. God’s grace is now being extended to all who will receive it.
Many years ago, a young evangelist made much of the religious community mad when he started preaching that God was a good God. He taught that God wanted to save, deliver, heal, prosper and bless all who would let Him. Where did he get this teaching? It came straight out of the Word of God. It was not a new teaching at all, God had been saying it and demonstrating it for thousands of years.
From the very beginning of time, God has been trying to get His blessings to His creation. The problem of separation was not with God, but with man. Anyone who reads the Bible has to admit that this is true, God is good. He loves man and desires the best for all..
The Bible shows us how that God brought His people up out of bondage in Egypt to bless them and to bring them into the land that He had reserved for them. They had lands that they didn’t buy, houses that they didn’t build and vineyards that they didn’t plant. These were not particularly special people, they were backslidden and rebellious much of the time. These blessings were not based on their goodness, but on God’s. This was God’s example to us of how He wanted to bless us. God is good and wants to bless you today.
