What’s The Plan?

John 17:18

As You sent Me into the world, I also have sent them into the world.

You have probably heard the saying, “You have to plan the work and then work the plan”. Also, there is another saying that goes hand in hand with this first one, it is “failing to plan is planning to fail.” It is pretty obvious what these are talking about, they are saying that it is very important to have a plan of action if you really want to accomplish much of anything.

The same is true in the Christian life. Many people don’t realize that God too has a plan that He is working out. Do you ever wonder what God’s plan is for your life? There are many specifics that no one can tell you, but then there are certain things that are God’s common will for all believers. These things everyone can and should know. It should be the goal of every believer to discover and accomplish these things to fulfill their destiny on this earth.

God never planned for us to be in the dark concerning His will, that is why He recorded His plan in the Bible. He wanted us to have clear written instructions. But, this is not all that He did. He also gave us a pattern to follow so that we could see how to carry out His instructions.

The pattern is Jesus, you have been sent into this world to continue His ministry. Therefore, it is imperative to see what Jesus, the pattern, was sent to do: ”For this purpose, the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil.” (1 John 3:8)

Think about that for a while, this is a really big order. We are called to finish the work that Jesus started: to destroy, undo and bring to naught the works of the devil on this earth. This is the job that all believers are called upon to do.

How do we do this? The same way that Jesus did, by the anointing and power of the Holy Spirit in our lives.

MY WORD CONFESSION: I believe in Jesus, therefore, the works that He did, I will do also and greater, He has gone to the Father. Jn. 14:12
