Led By The Spirit

Romans 8:14

For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

What a wonderful privilege it is to be able to become a Christian. Sometimes I think people have the wrong connotation of what that means though. To some, being a Christian means that you have to act a certain way, and have to stop doing all the things that you used to do. To them it means that you have no fun in life anymore. It is like the message of the gospel is bad news instead of what it literally is good news. For so many people, the message of salvation is like a medicine, it tastes really bad, but you need it in the long run so you go ahead and take it.

These things could not be farther from the truth. Sadly to say, very often it is the Christians themselves who send this message out. First of all, being a Christian means that we are now Children of God. We now have God as our heavenly Father and are beneficiary to all the rights and privileges that go along with being God’s child. It is now He who watches over us, He protects us and provides for us. He is now responsible for all our well-being. It is by His perfect love for us that we now live and exist. Everything that He does is motivated by that perfect love for us. We have been changed from an enemy of God to a friend of God.

Along with this change in family, we also have the benefit of being led by God. You see, when one is born again, the Holy Spirit comes to live inside of that person. What an amazing thing, we now have an onboard guidance system that is better than any rocket, satellite or missile that man has ever made. He is there at all times to lead us and to guide us. He reveals the way that is right to all who will let Him. Remember, He knows all things, and knows the right path for you to take. Don’t you think that it would be wise to let Him make the decisions in your life? Surrender all your future to Him today be led by the Spirit in all that you do. You will never regret it.
