The Enemy’s Agenda

Proverbs 29:18

Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.

We all know that an agenda is a plan, a schedule of events to follow or a list of items to be covered in a meeting. What many people do not know is that the enemy of mankind, the devil, has a well thought out plan and a very thorough agenda for the destruction of mankind.

First of all, we must realize that God is love and only He can manifest the emotion of caring or compassion. The devil knows no compassion. There is no caring or concern for any one in his makeup. He cannot love, like, or even care about anyone. He is the epitome of hatred and is driven by that hatred to kill, steal, and destroy anyone at anytime that he is presented with the opportunity. You can be assured that he is always on the watch for an opportunity to take advantage of man’s weakness and humanity.

One way that the devil seeks to gain advantage in the believer’s life is to smother out his or her passion. He schemes to lull people into a state of sluggishness and mediocrity. He knows that where there is no passion, there is no real power. We slump into a state of stagnation that hinders us from reaching the goals and accomplishing the purpose of God in our lives.

The Bible says that where there is no vision, the people will perish or wander aimlessly. It is the burning effect of a vision that causes one to escape the stagnation and corruption of mediocrity. It is hard for a man to die when he has a twinkle in his eye and a vision for his future. The power of expectation and the hope of a dream creates a vitality and a tenacity in the life of an individual that is not easily vanquished. If Satan could steal no more from you than your passion and vision, then he would have stolen much of your potency and power in one fell swoop.

The enemy is trying to steal from you something that is invisible, the loss of which is hard to detect, but when gone will render you helpless. Be on guard, and never surrender your passion and tenacity for the Lord’s will.

MY WORD CONFESSION: I will guard my vision with a passion, for where there is no vision, one wanders aimlessly.
