John 10:10
The thief cometh not but for to steal, kill and to destroy; but, I am come that they might have life and that more abundantly.
It has been the accepted norm for most Christians that they just barely get by, going from one paycheck to the next. It seems like a never ending cycle of borrowing from one person to pay off another. There just never seems to be enough to go around. It always seems that there is always too much month for the amount of money that is coming in. Maybe you too have been there and know exactly what I am talking about, it certainly is not uncommon in most families.
I have found that the Bible teaches that this should not be the case. The things of this world were created by God for His people. If you will notice that the Bible always teaches of plenty and abundance for the believer. I believe that God wants His children to move out of the land of not enough, through the land of just enough and into the land of more than enough.
Now this may sound too good to be true to you or may even seem presumptuous to you, but the verse for today says the same thing. It says that Jesus came to give abundance (more than enough) in all good things. It is the thief (the devil) who comes to steal, to kill and to destroy. Now, if the Bible says it then I can rely on it to be true.
It is surprising how many people act like God is barely getting by. They seem to think that if they ask God for the things that they need that it will put God into some kind of financial strain. I can assure you that there is no shortage in God’s kingdom. He has more than enough to meet every need and plenty left over. After all, the Bible says that the earth is God’s and the fullness thereof. It also says that all the gold and silver in this world is His. He’s got plenty.
I am convinced that God desires for all of His children to experience all of His blessings, but that He is having to wait for His children to grow up and mature so that He can trust them with these blessings. It is time for us to grow up and mature so that He can trust us and give us all the things that He has been wanting and waiting to give.
