Luke 21:23
Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.
We all want to live in victory, peace and prosperity. I believe that it not only can be done, but that it is the expected lifestyle for all who are believers. That puts many of us in a dilemma doesn’t it?
The reason that we do not see those expected results in our lives is very simple. If we are to live in financial success, if we are to live in health, if we are to live if peace, and if we are to live in victory, then we must decide that the Word of God is literally true. The Word of God must be the final authority in each one of these areas of our lives. There is just no way around that. We either believe what Jesus said in this verse, or we don’t. If we don’t, then we are saying that He lied. Now we all know that Jesus is God and the Bible says that God is not a man that He should lie. The Bible has the prophet Isaiah’s words recorded that tell us the same thing that Jesus said. It says that the grass will wither and the flower will fade, but the Word of our God will stand for ever.(Is.40:8)
The problem that we run into is that we have too many authorities in this world. There are medical authorities telling us why we have to be sick or what is dreadfully wrong with us. We have authorities on economics telling us why we can’t expect to prosper financially in this depressed time. There are doom and gloom merchants telling us why we should be depressed and why we can’t expect to live a victorious life. In reality, there are so called experts in every field to help us misunderstand the Word of God. There are even plenty of theologians who will tell you that the abundant life that Jesus said that He came to give is not for now, but for the sweet by and by.
Why don’t you just forget what everyone else is saying and agree with what the Word says. Let it be your final authority.
