Be Not Afraid

Mark 6:50

For they all saw Him and were troubled. Immediately he talked with them and said unto them, “Be of good cheer, it is I; be not afraid.

One of the greatest lessons that we can ever learn as a Christian is to heed these words of Jesus. We can always rest in the fact that if Jesus is in the area, we need not be afraid.

I don’t know what kinds of problems you may be going through. I don’t know about all the storms in your life, but one thing I do know is that Jesus is the Lord of those storms. I know that He has the solution to all your problems.

The Bible tells us in Hebrews 13:8 that Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever. Now this is good news for us. He will not ever change and so He is still the Lord of the storm, all of the storms in life, even your storms.

The moment that Jesus entered the boat with the disciples, the storm subsided, the wind ceased and the sea grew calm and serene. That is just the thing that He will do in your life today.

If you are going through trials and stormy times, you need to recognize that Jesus is the Lord of those storms. Confess out loud that you are trusting in Him to calm the tumultuous seas in your life. Then, after you have done that, sit back and relax in the comfort that He brings. Trust in Him completely to bring you through. Stop worrying and fretting now and let Him have His way, and do His work in your life.

No, I don’t know all about the storms in your life today, but I do know about the Master of the storm and I do know that He loves you and wants you to experience His peace. Today, listen for His voice. He is saying to you, “Be of good cheer, it is I; be not afraid.”

MY WORD CONFESSION: Jesus is the Lord of the storms in my life, I will be of good cheer and will not be afraid.
