A New Thing

Isaiah 43:19

Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall you not know it. I will even make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert

There is a reason why the Christian life is often called the Christian walk. The reason for this is that it is like a walk, it is a moving thing, a process of growing and going with God. God is constantly on the move, leading us from one place in our lives to another. He spends time with us teaching us and maturing us at a certain level and then He moves us on to the next level. He grows us and desires for us to come to the fullness of maturity in Christ.

Some of the greatest blessings and most exciting times in my own personal walk with the Lord have been those times of change that God has led me into. I am not saying that it is always easy because it requires leaving our comfort zones and going into uncharted territory. That is always, at first, a little unsettling, but when God does something new in your life, He will, if you are listening, reveal to your spirit that He is getting ready to do that new thing. Therefore, when it comes, you are expecting it and it gives you confidence to know that you already knew it was coming, it will not catch you off guard.

We must in our lives, learn to be flexible so that when God does get ready to do those new things, that we not only will be aware of it, but will also be willing to let Him lead us and move us into those new and more exciting places and experiences in our lives. We must always guard against getting too settled in on what God did last. We must not camp at the place that God put us in last night if His cloud moves to another place tonight. We must, like the children of Israel, be willing to move when the cloud moves and be willing to camp where the cloud stops.

MY WORD CONFESSION: When God does a new thing in my life, I will be aware of it and will move with Him where ever He leads.
