I Will Call Upon The Lord

Romans 10: 13

For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

The Bible is very clear about this subject. It says, “whosoever’. Well, that means me. I can call upon the name of the Lord and He will save me. You may be saying, “Well, I know that anyone can be saved and I am saved, but I have other problems now. I need help in other ways like bills, health, provision, deliverance,” and so on it goes.

You know, that is the way so many people think about it. They think that salvation has only to do with going to heaven when they die. That could not be farther from the truth. In fact, going to heaven is a great thing and I am glad we have it, but it is not the only thing that salvation is about. It is only a small part of the whole salvation package.

To most people, salvation is a way for God to get man off the earth and into heaven; but that is not the main reason for salvation. The truth is that salvation is the way by which God gets out of heaven and back into the earth with man. It has always been God’s plan to fellowship with man and salvation is the way by which man’s sin is forgiven and that fellowship is restored.

Now for the rest of the story. Salvation is more than just getting my sins forgiven, it is about getting all my needs met. If you will do a study on the word for salvation, you will find that the word sozo is used and it involves so much more than just going to heaven. This word is God’s all inclusive word for all of your needs. It means to be forgiven, saved, delivered, healed, provided for and on and on it goes. It means that whatever your need is, you have the provision in Christ Jesus for that need. Therefore, I will call upon the Lord.

MY WORD CONFESSION: I have called upon the lord and am saved and have all my needs met in Jesus Christ.
