Don’t Grow Weary

Galatians 6:9

And let us not be weary in well doing; for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.

Sometimes it seems that there is just too much evil, bad and hard times out there to really make a difference. It seems that the more you try to counteract the evil with good, the more the bad piles up and the good vanishes away.

Well, I have good news for you. The good that you are doing is not being done in vain. In fact, the Bible teaches us that the good that we do in secret is being noted by God and that He will repay us. Now that is a good promise for two reasons.

First of all, God never errs in His accounting. He keeps perfect records and never misses a thing. He knows and records each and every small thing done in the Spirit for the kingdom of God. You never have to worry about your good deeds going unnoticed an unaccounted for.

Secondly, He is a wonderful rewarder. He will not forget to send you your benefits. There is never any lost seed in His kingdom. Each seed is accounted for. Not only does He reward you, He is able to reward you exceedingly and abundantly above all you could ask or even think. His blessing account is unlimited.

So, since He has said that we are not to grow weary in well doing, it would be advisable for us to take Him at His word. Notice that His rewarding us is not based on how much evil is suppressed nor on how much our good is received, it is only based on our faithfulness to keep on doing good whenever and wherever we have the opportunity. He assures us that we SHALL reap if we don’t quit.

MY WORD CONFESSION: I will not grow weary in doing well, and I shall reap because I will not faint.
