The Steps Of A Good Man

Psalms 37:23

The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord and He delights in his way.

The first thing that we need to establish in this devotion is to whom it applies. The reason for this is that I know people and I know how the devil works. Immediately most people reading this will repeat what they hear the devil speak into their minds and that is that this can’t be for me, because I know that really I am not all that good. Therefore this is not applicable to me, there is none good but God.

You know, that is true. There really is none good but God. Do you remember what the Bible says that God said after He created man? He said, looking upon all that He had made, “Behold, it is very good.”

I know where you are going next with this. You will say that Adam sinned and man became evil and sinful, but you have to realize that the cross makes all the difference in the world. Now in Christ Jesus, we have become the righteousness of God. That means that I am as good as it gets, I have God’s righteousness instead of man’s sinfulness.

Now I can claim that scripture based on Jesus’ goodness, not my own and declare that my steps are ordered or guided by God. I am going in the way He wants me to go. I will be at the right place at the right time. I will have divine appointments. To others, it may seem that I am the luckiest person around, but to me I will know that the secret is that my steps are being ordered by God. He is always delighted to see me prosper and walk in health. He is excited to see me fulfill my calling and destiny. Never underestimate the ability of God to put you in the right place at the right time to get exactly what you need and He wants you to have.
