There Is Still Time

Jonah 2:1

Then Jonah prayed unto the Lord, his God, out of the fish's belly

Sometimes as we go through life, we find ourselves in strange and sometimes uncomfortable situations. It may happen because there is sin in our lives. Sometimes it is because of persecution that naturally accompanies a stand for righteous. At other times it may be brought on because of disobedience to God. Such was the case of Jonah.

To say the least, Jonah found himself in a "whale of a mess". He had disobeyed God's call to go to Nineveh to preach. God used this great fish to get his attention and it worked. You would think that this would have been the end for Jonah, but not so. When he came to himself and realized that he was still alive, he also realized that there must be a reason for it. He cried out to God and the Bible says that the Word of the Lord came to him the second time.

Maybe you feel that you have missed God and that there is no hope for you now. This is one of the devil's sharpest tools to use against Christians. He will first try to get you to deny God and His will for your life and will then condemn you and tell you that there is now no hope for you. If he can get a person to the place of "no hope" then he can effectively rule their lives and steal their joy.

I want to encourage you today to do as Jonah did and cry out unto the Lord. The very fact that you are still here and alive is indication that God is not finished with you yet. Notice again the first verse in Chapter 3,. .the word of the Lord came unto Jonah the second time.

I cannot tell you how thankful I am for that simple little verse. The truth of it has blessed my life countless times. God is the God of the second chance. Yes, if you are still here, then there is still time. Do as Jonah did and call out unto the Lord. He will hear you and He will answer you, He is waiting on your call.

MY WORD CONFESSION: I will cry unto the Lord by reason of mine affliction and He will hear me and will deliver me.
