A Powerful Medicine

Proverbs 4:20-22

My son give attention to my words . . . for they are life to those who find them and health to all their flesh.

There is powerful medicine that many are discovering for the first time in their lives. This is not a new medicine, it has been around for a long time. This medicine has no negative side effects, can be taken in mass doses without fear of overdose and works best when the recipient gets addicted to it. Besides all of this, there is no sickness or disease that does not respond favorably to this medication. Imagine this, there is a universal medicine that is available to all regardless of race, creed, age, or social standing. It is good for young and old alike. The cost is not prohibitive, in fact it is almost free. Sounds too good to be true, but it is.

This panacea is the Word of God. It is God’s antidote to all sickness, disease and infirmity. I know the argument that is rising up in some of you now. You are thinking that this can’t be true. If it were then why are so many people and even so many Christians still sick? This is a classic example judging the Word by experience instead of experience by the Word. Remember, it is the Word that is truth, not experience.

It all goes back to the same old thing as it is in all of the Christian walk. The element of faith must come into play. The Bible teaches that we must appropriate all things through faith. This certainly is no different. There are still millions of Christians who believe that God is the one who is making them sick. Therefore, they are not much of a candidate for believing that the Word of God will heal them.

How then do we get in on this great power to heal? First, we must aggressively believe the truth of the Word. We must next make the choice to speak what the Word says. Then, be sure that you visualize what you want. It is so important to read it, believe it, speak it and see it. I can tell you that this will work for you and anyone else who will put it to the test. The Word of God will heal if you will let it.

MY WORD CONFESSION: I am filled with the Word of God and it is producing life and health to my whole body.
