Wrecking The Devil’s Plans

1 Peter 5:8

Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:

God has a wonderful and exciting life planned for all who will leave the choice up to Him. He wants for you to be full of joy, blessed with all blessing, to be increased in all things good, to have peace beyond measure and to enjoy life to the fullest. These are only a sampling of all that God has and wants for His children. He knows what you have need of and He has a plan to get it to you. Jeremiah 29:11 says For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you and expected end.

That is surely good news isn’t it? Just think about that for a minute. God, the creator of all things, the highest authority of all, has a good plan for your life. It only makes good sense to choose what God wants and to give your life to Him. After all, He who created you will certainly know what will make you the happiest and most fulfilled.

There is another side to this coin though. Just as God has a great plan for your life, the devil too has plans for you. None of them are any good. His plans include nothing that would bring you any thing that you would really want. His plans are all selfish plans, plans to promote his will and his way against God. In fact, the Bible says that the devil want to devour you, to consume you.

What a stark contrast. God wants only what is best for you, while the devil wants only what is best for himself. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out which one of those deals is the best. God’s way leads to life and life more abundantly and the devil’s way leads to death and sorrow, lack and defeat.

God has given us each the free will to choose. It is your call, will you wreck the devil’s plans for your life and choose to let God have His way in you? I see that as the only sensible thing to do.

MY WORD CONFESSION: I choose to wreck the devil’s plans for my life by letting God have His way in my life today.
