Victory Is Assured

Isaiah 54:17

No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper...

Do you ever feel that you are the target of an unseen enemy who is constantly assaulting you? Well, I have some good news and some bad news for you. The bad news first, you are exactly that, a target of an unseen spiritual enemy. Now for the good news, no weapon that is formed against you shall prosper. This means that there is no way that an enemy can be successful against you without your help.

How can I be so sure about this? Well, it is not hard, I just believe and say what the Bible says. The Bible tells us that this enemy is already defeated. He is already totally and completely beaten. The fact is that he has been disarmed and paraded about the heavens in shame and reproach as a totally defeated warrior. (Col. 2:15)

Yes, he still rants and raves and uses tactics that make it seem that he is still a vicious and able fighter. The real truth is, that the only weapons that he possesses are those that we give him. We must be careful not to give him weapons to use against us. We must learn the way that he does battle. Since he has no weapons of his own, he has to use deception to make us think that he does. One of the most used tactics of the devil is to put thoughts of fear in our minds. If he can get us to operating in fear, he can beat us. The Bible says that we are to live by faith. Faith and fear are opposites. Faith is trusting God and what He can do, while fear is trusting what the devil can do. Along with fear comes doubt, worry and unbelief, all of which will defeat us if we will give them a chance.

This is the very reason that the Bible says that we are not to give place to the devil. If we give him ground, he will move in and set up a stronghold of fear, doubt, worry and unbelief. In this atmosphere, he has the advantage. We must learn to stand by faith on God’s word. In the atmosphere of faith, no weapon formed will prosper against us.
