fellowship is sweet

Hebrews 10:25

Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another:... By Mechele

Sometimes, we enjoy getting away for a few days. But, as they say it's always good to come home. It is good to get back to our kids, to our family and to our church. I have always known how blessed we are as a church body. It is a reminder to me that the fellowship of the saints is a precious blessing. Somehow when you're away and come back you feel refreshed and excited all over again. I have been thinking about our church family and wanted to share some thoughts with you about fellowship.

The fellowship of the saints is a mystical fellowship. Where else will we find such a fellowship? In a moment of time, we can mourn together or rejoice together. When the saints get together there is the discussion of their own interests, the work place, and the business of heaven and the subtleties of sin. Who else but a fellow saint will go to the inner most places of a person’s heart to encourage and to impart strength to the one who is discouraged and weak? Who else but a brother or sister in Christ can really exhort another not to give up; can encourage one to continue on to the prize that is before them?

We have a responsibility and a privilege to hold each other up in prayer. It might be a marriage in trouble, a rebellious child, a financial problem, or a hopeless cancer patient. In Acts 4, we see the unity that exists in the faith and the oneness that the saints felt for one another. I believe that the world is watching the church to see if they practice the scripture that Christians are to love one another.

Let me just say that regardless of denominational differences, I can fellowship with all true believers. There will be no divisions in heaven and the walls of fellowship here are the ones that we ourselves have created. Learn to enjoy the fellowship of the Saints, it is so sweet.

MY WORD CONFESSION: I will not forsake the assembling of myself together with other believers as is the manner of some.
