1 Peter 1:23
Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the Word of God, which liveth and abideth forever.
Perspective is the way we see or perceive things to be. I am sure that you have seen those drawings, usually in black and white, that either look like stairs going up or stairs going down, depending on how you look at them. Then, there is the one that looks like just blobs of ink, until you are told how to look at it and then when you look, you see that the word JESUS is spelled out. This is what perspective is all about. The way you look at information determines what you will see, and what you see determines what you do.
Another classic example of perspective is the water glass with water to the half mark on it. One person would say that the glass is half full and another would say that it is half empty. Both would be right, but the difference in reporting would be due to perspective. It is said that the optimist sees the glass as being half full and the pessimist sees it as half empty. It is all a matter of perspective.
There is a lot about the Christian life that is perspective, or how you perceive things to be. As the Bible says, As a man thinks in his heart, so is he. The way you think about things or perceive them to be will have a profound effect on how you act or react in a given situation.
Each person born in the earth is born of corruptible seed. That means seed that is wicked, rotten, and starting to decay. This is the natural man. We who have been born again, have been born of incorruptible seed and not of corruptible seed. Therefore we are the opposite of the natural man. We are not wicked, rotten and decaying. We have been born of eternal seed that cannot now nor will it ever be corrupted. This should help us to get our lives in proper perspective and cause us to look at life from the viewpoint of righteousness and victory and not from sin and defeat. We have been declared to be the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. Now that’s a great perspective.
