the real battlefield

2 Corinthians 10: 5b

. . . and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ.

Jesus said while He was here on this earth that He was here to do the will of the Father. That was His absolute goal and desire. It should be noted that He did exactly what He came to do and He did accomplish His goal to the fullest. How did Jesus manage to get this done? It was in the fact that He was totally focused and absolutely committed to His goal and purpose. He had His mind settled, He knew what He was here for and was not going to be distracted nor deterred.

In every life, this example should serve to show us how we are to live and how we also can fully accomplish God’s will in our own lives. The main reason that we do not finish our course and fulfill God’s will in our lives is that we are not sold out and settled in on our goal. We often have our minds fragmented and divided on what our real goal and purpose in this life is.

This is the reason that we miss out on the many blessings of God. The reason that we do not live in victory and abundance is that our minds are not really settled on the things of God. Our prosperity is directly linked to the way that we think. Our mindset determines our ability to walk in and experience the fullness of God. It all goes back to the basic building block of life, the thoughts.

It is imperative that we learn to control our thoughts. The scripture is right on target when it tells us that we will be like what we think. In other words, we are the product of what we think. Our thoughts determine our destiny. If we perceive ourselves to be anointed, blessed, children of God, then we will act like it. By faith we will appropriate what is ours as God’s children. On the other hand, if we see ourselves as beggars and paupers, then we will not operate in faith and we will not experience the many blessings and power of God in our daily lives. The real battlefield is the mind.

MY WORD CONFESSION: I bring every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ and will experience all God’s fullness.
