Colossians 3:15
And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you are called in one body, and be ye thankful.
The peace of God is a very important aspect of the Christian life. It should be a vital and integral part of our lives. If you polled a large number of people, you would find that one thing that they are almost all looking for in life is peace. You see it really doesn’t matter how much one has of the things that this life offers if they don’t have peace to go along with it. Without peace, one will not be satisfied with climbing the ladder of success all the way to the top. Friends, family and social standing will never suffice for peace in the heart of an individual.
This is one of the most obvious distinctions that separates the believer from the non believer in this present life. The believer is the beneficiary of the peace that only God can give. I have noticed that even in the midst of hard and trying times, the peace of God will continue to flow unhindered through the life of the believer who has learned to simply put their faith and trust in God. Especially in the days that we are living in now, it is such a blessing to be able to roll our cares over on the Lord and continue to dwell in His peace. The turmoil of this present time cannot and will not disrupt the lifestyle of the believer who has learned the secret of letting the peace of God be the ruler in his or her heart.
I would like to challenge you today to do a self check in your own life. You know, we all need to have a check up from the neck up periodically to see if we are letting our minds be ruled by the strife and turmoil, the situations and circumstances of this life or by the peace that comes from God as we trust Him and depend on His word daily. Are you letting the peace of God rule in your heart today?
