Matthew 19:26
. . . With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.
I wonder just how many of us really believe that this verse is true. Especially when it comes to being free from debt. Oh, I know that we believe that God can do any thing that He wants to, the problem is that we just don’t think that He wants to do anything in our lives when it comes to getting us out of debt. After all, debt is the American way. It may be the American way, but it is not the Bible way. The Bible says that the borrower is the servant of the lender. (Proverbs 22:7) God wants you to be His servant, not the lender’s.
I can just hear some of you saying now, “He may do it for some, but not for me, I am not good enough.” That is a lie, God is not a respecter of persons, if He will do it for anyone, He must do it for all, and besides, it is not based on your goodness. It is based on the finished work of Jesus and His covenant on your behalf.
The real truth of the matter is that Jesus wants you to be free from debt. He said that when you know the truth, that you will be made free, free from all things and debt is a thing. It is a thing that will keep you in bondage and keep you from being able to be a blessing to others. It is hard to be a blessing, when everything that you make is already spent. It is hard to be very joyful when you have people waiting in line to divide up all your earnings before you even get a penny. There is not much initiative when you spend all your time working so that you can give it to other people. There is certainly not much joy in that kind of a rat race, and God wants you to have joy.
Maybe you find yourself in this predicament today. Let me assure you that it is not God’s best for you and He wants to help you break the hold of debt in your life, He has debt bustin’ power available to you today. Get into the Word and let the Word get you out of debt.
