he will do it for you

Acts 10:34

Then Peter opened his mouth and said, ”Of a truth, I perceive that God is no respecter of persons.”

What a tremendous statement and truth we are given here in this verse. In the life of Peter, this was one of the greatest revelations that he had. The reason this is so revolutionary is because up until now, all the dealings of God with man had been toward the Jews, God’s chosen people. It was understood that the Gospel, the Old Testament promises and all the New Testament truths were for the Jews and only the Jews. In fact, the rest of the world was lumped into one category called the Gentiles. The Gentiles were despised and on the same level as dogs were to the Jews.

In this incident in Peter’s life, he was led by the Spirit and taught in a dream that all men are equal, a teaching that Peter had a hard time receiving. Peter was not the only one to have difficulty with this, his peers and countrymen all had to swallow a bitter pill or miss God in this area. To this day, many of the Jewish nation do not believe that any Gentile has right to claim the promises of God, these are sacred and are only to be for the Jewish people.

I am so thankful that God removed the barrier and included all the world in His great plan. If you read the New Testament, you will find that now it is neither Jew nor Gentile, but only those who receive Jesus as the Messiah and the forgiver of their sins that are included in God’s great promise and Covenant.

If we are to carry this further, we can also appropriate all of God’s blessings as available to all people. This means you. As a born again saint, you can claim all of God’s promises as yours. If he will bless, fill with His Spirit, heal, or provide financially for one person, he will do the same for you. Truly, God is no respecter of persons. All who are in Christ Jesus can claim all of God’s promises.

MY WORD CONFESSION: Truly God is no respecter of persons, if He will do it for anyone, He will do it for me.
