let it flow

Acts 1:8

But you shall receive power after the Holy Ghost is come upon you, and you shall be witnesses unto me...

Jesus gave this wonderful promise to all who would believe on Him. He knew that it was going to be necessary for those who would come to follow Him to be endued with a special and supernatural power. He knew, all too well, the impossibility of anyone to live the Christian life in their own strength and by their own power. That is what He was referring to in John 15 when He said that without Him we could do nothing.

I am so thankful that as of the Day of Pentecost, we have been given the ability to walk in God’s power because the Holy Ghost has been given to mankind. He is our helper and our enabler. He is our leader and our guide. It is He who dwells in us to give us the Father’s direction. He convicts us of our sin so that we may confess it and get or fellowship restored and our faith renewed. He is there to convince us of our righteousness so that we will be able to accept God’s presence and working in our lives without condemnation. It is because of this that we can have confidence in God that results in dependence on Him and assurance of our right standing with Him.

Jesus told His followers that those who believed in Him, out of their bellies would flow rivers of living water. It says that He was speaking of the Holy Ghost that those who believed on Him would receive. If you have believed on Jesus as your Lord and Savior, you have received that same Holy Ghost power in you. He is a river of living water flowing in and through you to give you power and ability to live the Christian life so that it will be a testimony to those around you. You will be a witness for Jesus as He said you would be. Today, agree with what Jesus said and by faith allow the Holy Ghost who lives in you to flow through you with God’s own power.

MY WORD CONFESSION: I am a believer in Jesus Christ; therefore, I have a river of living water flowing through me.
