Luke 11:13
If ye then being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?
It is so amusing to listen to people talk about God. You would be amazed at some of the things that I have heard people say about him. You would also be shocked to find out just how little most people really trust Him. I am not just talking about the lost people, I am referring to people who claim to be born again. I do not doubt their salvation experience, but I just believe that they have been misled and deceived about God.
I cannot list the number of times that I have heard people say that they are afraid to really commit their lives to God because they are afraid that if they do, He will make them go to some foreign country and be a missionary or something.
One person even told me that they were afraid to get too committed because if they did they were concerned that God would do something to one of their children to see if they were really serious and to test their commitment.
People are all the time talking about how that God made them sick so that He could get their attention. How that these things are the crosses that they must bear for the Lord. So they will gladly bear that cross for Him. Strangely enough, they then will spend hundreds of dollars on doctors to try to get them well. If it is for the glory of God, then bear it and stop trying to get out from under it.
Let me tell you, none of these things bring glory to God. He said that He will give good things to those who are His. Don’t you think that it is about time we quit accusing God and started trusting Him? God is good, all the time.
