god’s great ability

Numbers 11:23

And the Lord said unto Moses, Is the Lord’s hand become short? You shall see now whether my word shall come to pass unto thee or not.

Wow, what powerful words. Now you or I could have said that and it might not would have meant very much, but this is not a man speaking, it is the Lord God Almighty.

Do you ever feel like things are just too out of control, just too hard, or too mixed up? I know that sometimes I do. Then, I have to remind myself that it is not my power nor my ability that I am relying upon.

Moses was faced with a gigantic task, an impossible task in the natural. You see, he had several million people out there in this desert wilderness and they were all crying out for some meat to eat. They had had their fill of manna and had begun talking about the fish, meat and vegetables that they used to eat in Egypt. They were mumbling and complaining to Moses saying that he just had to do something to get them some meat.

Moses talked to God about it and God said that if they wanted meat, He would give them meat, more meat than they could eat. He would bring them quail every day. Now after all Moses had seen God do, he questioned whether or not God could get that done.

Isn’t that just like us? We know that God is all powerful and able to do all things, yet we, in the midst of the trouble and trials, often doubt God’s willingness and ability.

Maybe today, you need to ask yourself the same question. Has the hand of the Lord become shortened? I believe not, He is still the same God with the same power. As God told Moses, stand back and see whether His word shall come to pass or not.

MY WORD CONFESSION: God’s hand is not shortened, He has not changed, He will do all that He has said He will do.
