tell it like it is

Psalms 107:1-2

O give thanks unto the Lord for He is good: His mercy endureth forever. Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, whom He hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy.

The Bible clearly tells us that we have been redeemed from the hand of the enemy. Do you know what it means to be redeemed? The word for redeemed used in the scripture means to be bought out of the market place and the price to be paid is the blood of the one who redeems. Isn’t that something, because that is exactly what Jesus did. He purchased us out of the market place of sin with His own blood. This term also implies that the redeemed will never be put in that marketplace again. Now we can see a fuller and better picture of the security of our redemption.

We were in the market place of sin with no hope of redeeming ourselves because we had sin in our lives and the only way that we could be redeemed was by the blood, or life, of a redeemer who was worthy of that redemption. In other words, one who had no sin of His own. The only person who qualified as that redeemer was Jesus, and He willingly paid the price for our redemption.

Therefore, the Bible says to let the redeemed of the Lord say so. Say so to what? Say that I am redeemed. Redeemed from what? Well, for starters, I am redeemed from the hand of my enemy. Praise the Lord, I am no longer under the bondage and control of Satan. I am freed from His dominion and the eternal damnation that is his future.

The Bible tells us also, in Galatians 3:13, that Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law. That means that I am redeemed from all that the law of sin put on me. I am redeemed from sickness, poverty, bondage and eventually even death.

So, let the redeemed of the Lord say, “ I am redeemed”.

MY WORD CONFESSION: The lord has redeemed me from every aspect of the curse and I am happy to say so.
