persecutions

2 Timothy 3:12

Yea and all that will live Godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution.

Eternal life is free to you. It cost Jesus His life, but He freely gives it to you. Even though your salvation can’t be bought or earned, it does not come without a price for you to pay.

Sometimes I think we do new converts or potential converts a disservice by telling them things such as, “Just give your life to Jesus and all your problems will be gone.” Another thing that we often tell them is that if they will just invite Jesus into their hearts, that is all they have to do.These things just aren’t true. Yes, the gift of salvation is yours free, but it cost you your life. The Bible says that when one becomes a Christian that he is purchased by Christ and is no longer his own to do with as he pleases.

When we become a Christian, we are to give our life totally and completely to Jesus to do with as He pleases. We are to live for Him and allow Him to live through us. When we do this, we can be sure that we are going to be persecuted as Jesus was. We are going to become the object of the devil’s attacks and darts. The world and possibly even your former friends and family will not understand the change that has come over you. They, if they are not Christians themselves, will feel betrayed by you and will be uncomfortable around you with your new nature.

This is not something to be sad about, but something to rejoice about. You are being counted worthy to suffer for the name of Jesus. Because you have taken on His name, you will make people feel convicted of their own sins. Jesus said that while in this world that you would have persecutions. So learn to expect them and count it all joy when they come.

MY WORD CONFESSION: I live a godly life in Christ Jesus and suffer persecutions that give Him glory because of it.
