III John 2
Beloved I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in good health even as thy soul prospers.
We know that the Bible says in 2 Timothy 3:16 that all scripture is given by inspiration of God, God has said it and so it is so, notice that it says ALL scripture is inspired or “ God Breathed” therefore it is not of any private interpretation. In other words, man did not insert his opinion. God used men to write it, but he did the wording. Do you believe that He was able to get said what he wanted to say? I sure do. It is too bad that so many think that our Almighty God wasn’t able to keep His word pure and trustworthy and to mean what is written in His word.
Now, with that out of the way and with the establishment that God said what He meant and meant what He said, we can look at this verse. Did you notice that it says that God wants us to prosper and to be in good health? I don’t know why so many people want to blame God for all the bad things going on in this world. He is not the one causing sickness and poverty. Those are things listed in Deuteronomy as under the curse. He says that Jesus has delivered us from the curse and placed us in the blessing. Mark it down once and for all, God wants you to prosper and be in good health.
If you continue reading this verse, you will see that God not only wants you to prosper and be healthy physically, but He also wants you to prosper in your soul, that is in your mind, your will and your emotions. In other words, He wants you to be happy and joyful so that you can enjoy your prosperity.
