going for it all

Jude 24

Now unto Him who is able to keep you from falling and to present you faultless before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy

Have you ever wanted to step out in faith and do something wild for the Lord? Have you been intimidated by the crowd and by a fear of messing up? I am sure that you probably have, since most of us basically have the same feelings and thoughts.

I can remember very early in my Christian walk when I would spend time by myself, alone in my room. I would be preaching as hard and fast as I could. I would envision praying for the sick and casting out demons. It was in me to do those things, but I was sure that I would never really do that sort of thing publicly. I thought that I would never be bold enough to be able to stand in front of anyone and do or say those bold things. After all, who did I think that I was? I was only a high school coach and math teacher and they just didn’t do those kinds of things.

I finally learned that I can do all things through Christ. I was responsible to be obedient and do what He said and leave the results to Him. It was not my ability that was important to Him, but my availability to Him that was important.

Let this encourage you who are afraid of stepping out. Go ahead and go for it. Do all that is in your heart. If it is preaching, then preach. If it is praying for the sick, then pray for the sick. Do what you feel inside that you are supposed to be doing and remember that it is He who is able to keep you from falling and who will present you faultless before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy.

MY WORD CONFESSION: My God will keep me from falling and will present me faultless before His glory, with exceeding joy.
