John 1:12
But as many as received Him, to them gave He the power to become the sons of God, even to them that believed on His name.
God has always had a people. He has always had those who were faithful to Him, those who would trust in Him and be obedient to Him. Sometimes the numbers were very few, as in the days of Noah and at other times the numbers grew at an astounding rate, such as in the days of the early church. The truth of this scripture is that everyone or anyone of any race, creed, nationality or culture can lay claim to the promise to become a child of God.
Today there are millions who claim to be the children of God, and I don’t doubt that they are. They have taken advantage of this promise and received Jesus as their own personal Savior. They are on their way to heaven with their sins forgiven, covered with the blood of Jesus and established in the righteousness of God.
Today, I want to look at another group of people, who are also in the family of God. Another group that God has always had are the ones who are sold out from among the called out. These are the ones who go on with their Christian life and make it their reason for living. These are the ones who study the Word, believe the Word and act on the Word daily. These people are on the front lines in the battle that is raging. There are no pew warmers in this bunch, those who just go to church because it is expected. These are there for every service, hungry for new revelation, looking for more and expecting God to show up and perform signs and wonders in the services and in their daily lives. These people of God take their salvation and Christian life very seriously. It is not just a duty or a ritual for them, it is their life.
Which category would you put yourself in? The world labels this second group as fanatics, but God says of them, “Well done my good and faithful servants, I am proud of you.”
