Matthew 1:23
…and they shall call His name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.
Jesus was God with us. No imitation, knock off, or clone, he was God with us. That is what the name Emmanuel means. To this day, he is still with us, now matter where we go or where we are, Jesus is there with us. In fact, He is in charge of all the universe, watching over the planet earth and all that is going on here. He sustains all creation with his Word, so much for “Mother Nature." I would much rather have Jesus, the creator of and sustainer of all things, with me that to have some “Mother Nature.”
But now God-with-us has paid for our sins and is not just God-with-us, but he is also God-for-us at the Father's side. The Bible tells us that Jesus died on the cross for the sins of all who will come to Him in repentance, that He was buried in a sealed tomb complete with the Roman Guard and that after three days, He arose. In so doing, He defeated once and for all the greatest enemy of the human race, death. After His resurrection, He ascended into the heavens and is now seated at God’s right hand, where He ever lives to make intercession for us. He is on our side and is constantly speaking favor to God the Father on our behalf.How great to know, that He is God-for-us.
Is there any way that this can get any better? Well, I believe that it just keeps getting better and better. For God-with-us and God-for-us is also God-in-us. Say what? Yes, that is right. He is also indwelling each and every believer by the Holy Spirit. What? Know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own.? (1Cor.6:19)He is in us to empower us to be able to live the life that God desires, not by our power or might, but by His Sprit.
It is so comforting to know that we have a wonderful, loving God who gets involved on a personal level with us.
