Matthew 6:31
Therefore, take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? Or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?
I suppose if you were to translate the title into today’s language, it would more likely be, don’t pay any attention to, don’t worry about it, or don’t even think about it. If the Bible says for us not to give any worry about a subject, I believe that is what we should do. And when the Bible says something is taken care of, we should simply acknowledge it to be so and stop worrying about it. The reason being, the Bible is the final word on everything. It is the final authority, you cannot appeal to a higher source. The Bible is truth, absolute truth and there is no changing truth.
I have taught many times that there is a vast difference between truth and fact. This has been one of the greatest revelations that God has ever given to me. The reason that it is so powerful is that if you will grasp it, it will revolutionize the way you look at life and the problems of life. When the Word of God becomes your final authority you will be the ruler over your circumstances and life instead of vice versa.
Let me show you how this works in every day life. Let’s suppose that you woke up one morning with aches, pains, sore throat and fever. After you assessed all the information, you would come to the conclusion that you are sick. That is pretty elementary. This is where some well meaning Christians make a big mistake. At the risk of sounding faithless and not wanting to make a negative confession, they will say that they are not sick. This is not faith, it is lying. Faith is calling those things which are not as though they are. It is not denying what is.
The facts are simple, you are sick. But, the truth is that by His stripes you were healed. Now, faith does not deny the facts, it just simply appeals to a higher source. That is truth. Truth is higher and more powerful than fact. Truth supersedes fact. Therefore, take no thought of the facts, if they are not truth, then they are subject to change. Truth is not subject to change, it is unchangeable, therefore, stay with the truth and over rule the facts.
